It’s mid January and we think this is a great time to reflect on financial resolutions for 2017.
Thinking back to when the first Christmas decorations appear in the shops after summer, there are always echoes of Christmas starting too early. Then the time clicks away, the weeks pass by and pressure on time and money starts to build.
Of course, Christmas can start whenever you like (but it should at be least starting to get cold!!!). But you can’t start planning financially for Christmas too early. We think the best way is to save a little regularly and over the year, you’ll build up a little pot that you can spend at Christmas. Just £5 a month will give you £60, £10 will save £120. The more you save the more you’ll have to help you manage Christmas.
It’s not just our opinion. The Citizens Advice Bureau have Ten Tops Tips to avoid a Christmas debt hangover. It starts – and ends – with planning financially for Christmas.
Whatever you spend at Christmas, having a savings pot to draw on is going to help.
So make that resolution, open a CroydonPlus Credit Union account today and start planning for Christmas. It’s only 300 or so days away!
